Description

The Fodsports FX7 Bluetooth mesh motorcycle intercom combines group communication for up to 10 compatible riders with wireless audio mixing. Hear music, navigation prompts or FM radio while continuing an intercom conversation, using the supported setup.

This listing is for one Single Pack: one FX7 unit with a helmet installation kit. Each rider or passenger needs their own compatible headset. The ten-rider specification describes supported group capacity, not the number of units included.

Key features

  • Bluetooth mesh group intercom: Fodsports' multi-rider network supports up to 10 compatible participants.
  • Dual Bluetooth chips: separate audio and intercom functions support wireless music or navigation during conversation.
  • Three pairing modes: choose two-rider, Friends or Make Friends mode for the group you want to connect.
  • Bluetooth 5.4: connect to compatible phones, GPS devices and supported intercoms.
  • 40 mm stereo speakers: supplied with microphone noise reduction for calls and intercom.
  • Built-in FM radio: listen to local broadcasts and save preferred stations; reception depends on signal and location.
  • USB-C charging: rechargeable operation with battery-level prompts.
  • IP67-rated water resistance: follow the instructions for connectors, wet-weather use and charging.

Choose the right group mode

The FX7 uses what Fodsports calls a Bluetooth mesh AD-HOC network. It is designed to let connected riders leave without automatically ending the remaining group's conversation. Riders must still remain within a workable network range.

  • Two-rider mode: connect a rider and pillion or two riding partners.
  • Friends mode: establish a group, then complete pairing so additional riders cannot join without setting up the group again.
  • Make Friends mode: allow compatible units using the matching mode to join the group according to the manual.

Fodsports advertises a maximum of 10 riders. Its V1.0 guide recommends groups of two to eight for intercom quality and stability. Check the instructions for the supplied revision if you regularly ride with a larger group.

Mesh does not mean universal mesh compatibility. Do not assume the FX7 can join Cardo DMC, Sena Mesh or another Fodsports model's network simply because that device also uses the word mesh.

Wireless audio mixing and music sharing

Wireless mixing lets you hear a supported music, navigation or FM audio source while using intercom. This differs from systems that require an AUX cable for external audio during conversation. Follow the manual's separate music and intercom volume instructions when setting your levels.

Music sharing sends audio between two compatible FX7 units. The supplied guide describes rider-and-pillion use at close seating distance, including intercom while sharing. It is not a ten-person music broadcast or a promise of long-distance music sharing between motorcycles.

Range and battery figures are manufacturer claims, not DriftnDrive test results. Buildings, terrain, interference, rider spacing, volume and the functions in use can affect performance. The 2,000 m headline is not a guarantee of that distance between every rider in a group.

Helmet fit and single-pack contents

Check your helmet's accessory instructions, speaker recesses and mounting space before ordering. The kit provides a boom microphone and a separate wired button microphone for different installations. Position the speakers without pressure points, and do not cut protective helmet materials to make room.

The manufacturer's standard single-unit kit includes:

  • One FX7 intercom unit.
  • Speakers with boom microphone, plus a wired button microphone.
  • Clamp and adhesive mounting components with a metal clip.
  • Headset hook-and-loop fasteners.
  • USB charging cable and start guide.

A second headset and mains charger are not included. Keep connector covers properly closed during wet-weather use, and dry the unit and connections before charging.

Where can I find the FX7 manual?

Read the Fodsports FX7 V1.0 start guide for the documented pairing modes, audio controls and installation. Match instructions to your unit's revision; newer app functions are not covered by this older guide.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Can the FX7 connect to Sena, Cardo or another headset?
A: Fodsports documents universal Bluetooth pairing on a one-to-one basis, subject to device compatibility. That is separate from joining another brand's mesh network. Check your exact headset combination before ordering for a mixed-brand group.
Q: Does the FX7 support the Fodsports Connect app?
A: Fodsports lists FX7 V2.0 and V3.0 as app-compatible. Do not assume this applies to V1.0 hardware. Confirm the supplied revision if app control is essential, and use only firmware intended for that revision.
Q: Does group intercom require mobile reception?
A: No. Direct headset-to-headset intercom does not require mobile reception. Phone calls, streamed music and online services still depend on your phone and service.
